The cold weather has managed to affect local ski hills. At Marquette Mountain, wonderful conditions on the slopes have been counteracted by the frigid temperatures. Fewer skiers have been visiting Marquette Mountain as a result, although that doesn't mean there was nobody out on the hills. A few die hard skiers did go out in the cold weather.
"Skiers learn to dress appropriately, so wind chill usually for a skier is not an issue," said Vern Barber, General Manager at Marquette Mountain.
More skiers are expected to turn out in the coming days as temperatures increase and make up for lost time. Weather permitting, Marquette Mountain is open seven days a week through March 14.
