The American Red Cross in Delta and Schoolcraft Counties is offering community health and safety classes this Saturday at the Escanaba office. It teaches students how to prepare for emergencies and disasters.
Participants will learn how to properly perform CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator and how to respond to other emergencies until advanced medical help arrives.
Classes are held at Red Cross offices or can be brought to an office for on-site company training. Courses involve web-based self-study prior to coming to the class.
The Red Cross training courses meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines and come with a two year certification.
â??The students will actually get a digital certificate thatâ??s emailed to them,â?? said Joy Ward, Instructor at the American Red Cross. â??They can print it out and itâ??ll actually have a QR code. So if somebody were able to have that technology they can scan it and verify that certification.â??
Visit their website or call 1-800-RED-CROSS for more details and to register for a class.
