Congressman Gary Peters was in Marquette Monday talking with residents and small business owners.
Peters is looking to fill Senator Carl Levin's seat next fall. The Democratic congressman is currently a representative for the 14th Congressional District.
Peters said jobs are the number one concern throughout the state. Peters also added he is an advocate for small businesses, and while in office he has worked hard to make sure small business owners have access to financing.
"So, I was the principal officer of the Small Business Job Act which helped community banks have the resources necessary to lend to small businesses...an amendment that I authored on a bill and helped state efforts that has already created over 5,500 jobs, and there's more on the way," said Gary Peters.
