The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has confirmed a pair of cougar sightings in Marquette County.
According to wildlife officials, two trail cameras in an area off County Road 510 have captured evidence of a cougar. Officials believe that the same animal is shown in both photographs.
The DNR says that the photos were taken on September 18 and October 19 in roughly the same area off CR 510. One photo is not being released at the request of the trail camera owner.
If you discover evidence of a cougar you can report it to the Michigan DNR by contacting your local DNR Operations Service Center, or by calling the DNR Report All Poaching hotline at (800) 292-7800. Officials ask that you do not disturb any physical evidence until it can be investigated.
