The Marquette County Board met Tuesday evening to discuss the issue of freeze damage from this past winter.
Senators and Representatives will be having a video conference tomorrow to discuss these issues with state officials. FEMA is claiming the let-runs are not in their criteria and should not be included in the expenses. The board will focus on what needs to be presented to FEMA in order to get a Presidential Declaration.
â??Yes those costs should be included because if we did not have those let-runs, if we did not let those people run their water, everything would have frozen and there would have been more damage that those counties and cities would have experiencedâ?? said Teresa Schwalbach, Marquette County Emergency Management Coordinator.
The board will send additional information to the state and FEMA who will then decide if there should be a Presidential Declaration.
