Crafters show off their skills and help a good cause

The Ishpeming Armory was filled with crafts made by local artists on Saturday.

With 32 booths paying a fee between $40 and $50, the Non-Commissioned Officers Club of the National Guard uses a portion of the money raised which goes towards specific events.

The money is also used for the children of National Guard members.

During the holiday-themed craft show, baked food and floral arrangements were some of the more popular items.

"When you make things, you think, 'Oh these are so nice and good quality. By making so many of them, I need a place to sell them,' so we have the craft shows so that the people can sell the things that they make and make themselves a little more income," said Liz Waters, show organizer.

Saturday was the final day of the Ishpeming Craft Show. TV6 will offer a Christmas Craft Show at NMU's Superior Dome, December 6-8.
