N ames have been released after an accident Saturday night in Sands Township. Two vehicles were involved in the crash that happened at 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of M-553 and County Road 480.
A GMC Yukon was traveling north on M-553 and struck the passenger side of a station wagon that was traveling east on CR 480. The driver of the GMC was 64-year-old Cynthia Nyquist of Marquette. She was cited for failure to yield.
The driver of the station wagon was 41-year-old Brady Walters from Eben Junction. Four of the five passengers in the Walters vehicle were transported to Marquette General Hospital for complaints of non-life threatening injuries. The passengers were 38-year-old Mary Walters, 17-year-old Selina Walters, 16-year-old Evelyn Walters, 13-year-old Erin Walters and 10-year-old Danika Walters.

Four passengers were taken to Marquette General Hospital for minor injuries.
The crash happened Saturday night at the intersection of M-553 and County Road 480.
The Marquette County Sheriff's Office said around 10:15 p.m. a GMC Yukon was headed north on M-553 when it hit the passenger side of a station wagon that was headed east on County Road 480.
The driver of the GMC was a 64-year-old woman from Marquette.
She was cited for failure to yield. The driver of the station wagon was a 41-year-old man from Eben.
Police said the drivers and passengers were wearing their seat belts and the side impact airbag deployed inside the station wagon.
Michigan State Police, Chocolay Township Police, Sands Fire/EMS and Marquette General EMS assisted at the scene.
