Cross Fit 906 honors fallen soldier

Cross Fit 906 in Ishpeming honored a soldier who passed away with a Hero Workout Thursday afternoon. Participants ran one mile around Lake Bancroft then lifted weights, did sit-ups and box jumps, then ran another mile. The workout is longer and more intense than normal workouts at Cross Fit. Hero workouts are named after the soldier who has passed away; this one was called "Steve" after Vietnam veteran, Steve Bashaw.

"I know for myself, generally, it helps me push myself a little bit harder through the workout knowing that someone sacrificed their life for my freedom," said Cross Fit Trainer Angela Kiviniemi. "We always do a workout on Memorial Day, and they're tough workouts--they're usually longer than our normal workouts usually are."

About than 30 people participated in the work out.
