Every year members of the Ixonia Vintage Tractor Expo Club meet for the St. Ignace Bridge Cross.
This year, the group of 11 men decided to help four local charities while having fun with "Cruisin for a Cause." The group raised about $6,000 in cash, food and clothing. During their four-day, 400 mile trip from Ixonia, Wisconsin to St. Ignace, they're stopping and making donations at Cruisin with Bryden, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, the Rainbow House and the Mackinac Community Food Pantry.
The men are grateful for the communities' support during their ride.
"Our hats off to all the local governments and cities here that have let us just cruise on through," says John Pernat of Cruisin for a Cause. "All their support and helpful hints that they've told us what we need to do and how we should do it and it's been real smooth sailing."
The group is hoping to arrive in St. Ignace around 4 pm Wednesday.
