      Dangerous ice conditions reported

Snowmobilers, cross country skiers, ice fisherman and other people using ice for recreation are being warned of the conditions near Boney Falls Reservoir on the Escanaba River.

The Upper Peninsula Power Company issued the warning on Tuesday, stating that thin ice conditions may exist near the reservoir.

UPPCO officials say changing water levels in the reservoir can cause areas of open water or "ice-bridging." The dangerous areas might not be visibly identifiable, according to UPPCO.
