Monday was day 14 in the trial of Kenneth Peters. The 50 year old man from Bessemer is accused of murdering his 79 year old wife Ethel Peters.
Monday the prosecution continued their cross examination of the defendant.
The prosecution questioned Peters claim that police fabricated evidence. He says claims of a surveillance video that a neighbor used to identify him is a fake. Peters has also claimed a purple cup recovered with his DNA on it is fabricated.
"He's talking to me, telling me they had my cup with my DNA on it . He's fabricating because I know I did not leave a cup out there," said Peters.
Peters also denied claims he told a prosecution witness days before Ethel went missing that he could make a body disappear.
Both sides rested their case. They're expected to start closing arguments Tuesday morning with jury deliberations to follow.
