Deadly dogs case now in the hand of Lapeer County prosecutor
Thu, 31 Jul 2014 07:39:50 GMT — Police have completed an investigation after two dogs fatally mauled a 46-year-old jogger on a rural Michigan road. The Metamora Township police chief tells the Flint Journal the initial report is done and has been sent to the Lapeer County prosecutor's office. He declined on Wednesday to comment on investigators' findings. Authorities will decide whether the dogs' owners will face criminal charges. Craig Sytsma was attacked July 23 in Metamora Township, about 45 miles northwest of Detroit. He later died at a hospital. A hearing is scheduled Friday on whether the two cane corsos in the attack and a third adult dog and multiple puppies removed from the owners' property can be destroyed. It was the third attack by dogs from the same home in the past two years.
