An investigation is on going in Newberry, after a pet dog is killed under suspicious circumstances.
Upper Michigan's Source has been receiving emails and face book posts from viewers concerning on-line stories circluated of pet dogs being stabbed to death while leashed in their back yards.
We contacted the Michigan State Police in Sault Ste Marie who's handling the investigation. They have confirmed that one dog was killed the week of April 21 in an un-natural manner. However, due to this being an open investigation they would not comment on the way the dog was killed, the location of the death, or the breed of the animal.
