Delta County shoppers hit the stores on Black Friday

Itâ??s Black Friday, and it's a great way to score on early Christmas deals and markdowns. Despite the snow, there was no stopping those shoppers looking for the Black Friday deals. Shoppers were out in full force in Delta County, with all stores showing some kind of deal or bargain.

Many shoppers out there have one thing on their wish list: anything electronic. Team Wireless in Escanaba has a wide variety of the latest technology, as well as big specials to draw in shoppers in search of deals. But it's not just prices shoppers have to contend with.

â??It's been a little bit fun and crazy,â?? says Mark Chouinard of Escanaba. â??There've been a lot of busy people. Itâ??s been fun because I haven't really met any people as rude as Iâ??ve seen in the past."

The store president says it's been very busy at the store, as shoppers checked out the selections.

â??iPhones have been big,â?? says Team Wireless President Brian Boucher. â??Motorola Razr is a big seller. We had them on special--buy one, get one--all day today. The iPhone 4 has been free on special, so it's been a big seller for us, also."

But if you're not into electronic gadgets, a lot of people are finding other gifts and taking shelter from cold weather at the Delta Plaza Mall. Inside, it was packed. The stores were filled with shoppers who were drawn by the deals.

According to the National Retail Federation, last year, Americans spent $52.4 billion over the four-day weekend following Thanksgiving. Only time will tell if this weekend of shopping will break that record number.
