A sheriff deputy was struck by a snowmobile in Schoolcraft County on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of three individuals.
Deputies were working the intersection of Ross Lake Road and Trail 8 in Hiawatha Township when they attempted to stop three snowmobilers for minor violations. The first two snowmobilers fled, with one hitting the deputy. The third snowmobile operator failed to stop as directed but stopped after traveling a short distance.
Deputies pursued the first two snowmobilers and apprehended both several miles from the scene on Trail 8.
A 39-year-old Marquette County man was charged with reckless operation and fleeing and eluding. A 19-year-old Marquette County man was charged with several felony offenses, including fleeing and eluding, assaulting an officer, and attempted great bodily harm of an officer.
The third suspect that stopped shortly after being instructed to is a 34-year-old Marquette County man who was charged with failure to stop for a uniformed officer.
The deputy was treated and released for minor injuries at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique.
