Residents of Dickinson County had a chance to talk one-on-one with local law enforcement Thursday. It's part of the Coffee with a Cop program.
State Police, Sheriff's Department, and Police Department Officers were at Hardee's today to meet with area residents. They also had a Coffee with a Cop in Iron County on Tuesday at Angeli's.
The officers say it's a great way to voice concerns, or simply mingle.
"People came in and have had concerns about traffic issues, such as 'what is the center lane used for,' questions about complaints that they filed with the Police Department," says Lt. Christine Grabowski of the Iron Mountain State Police. "They wanted to talk face-to-face with an officer that was there. People have just wanted to come in and say hello, retirees from the Police Department."
This is the first year that Dickinson County has done Coffee with a Cop, and they say they'd like to continue doing it.
