Hungry, animal loving Escanaba residents will be happy to learn about a new local partnership.
The Delta Animal Shelter is partnering with local restaurants to help raise funds to build a new shelter for homeless animals.
â??Thereâ??s a big push right now to do the fundraising because we have the one-for-one dollar match offered by the John and Melissa Besse Foundation,â?? said shelter manager Susan Gartland. â??So, weâ??re really trying to capitalize on that.â??
Every other week, a different location will host Dinner for the Shelter, donating a percentage of your bill to the shelter.
Crispignaâ??s Italian restaurant kicks off the campaign this Thursday, donating a portion of all orders, including carry out.
â??Weâ??re donating 10 percent of our proceeds for our dinner hour to the rebuilding of the Delta Animal Shelter," said Crispignaâ??s owner, Andrew Crispigna.
Ferdinandâ??s Mexican Restaurant and Cantina is next on the list. They will be hosting Dinner for the Shelter March 18.
â??It helps a local restaurant, and youâ??re also helping the local animals,â?? Gartland said. â??So, for having a delicious meal, youâ??re helping two local organizations.â??
