      Dishing up pancakes

It's been a Negaunee tradition for 46 years. Sunday the Negaunee Lions Club held their annual pancake breakfast at Lakeview Elementary School. Every year the Lions Club serves up pancakes for about 500 people and raising around four to five thousand dollars.

Proceeds from the breakfast go toward youth scholarships, youth sporting events, as well as support for senior citizens.

"We annually provide about $10,000 a year in local support for educational as well as physical things like the Iron Ore Heritage trail," said George Sedlacek of the Negaunee Lions Club.

The breakfast coincides with the Class A Negaunee Invitational Basketball Tournament. The Lions Club uses it as a way to help serve players and visitors attending the tournament.

In August the Negaunee Lions Club will hold their spaghetti dinner in association with the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic.
