Diving in icy waters for Special Olympics

Would you ever take a plunge into freezing cold water for a good cause?

Well more than 100 people did Saturday for the Special Olympics. Organizers say it??s the highest number of jumpers they??ve seen in the event's nine years. Among those brave enough, or to some crazy enough, to jump in was our very own Shawn householder and Sam Bauman from the morning news.

"It was pretty good?| it was a little cold," admitted Householder, TV6 meteorologist.

"Hardly?| I didn??t even notice really," said Bauman in response.

"Right but you know it??s for a good cause," added Householder.

What's even more amazing is how much money is raised. Saturday??s event raised over $10,000 for Special Olympics.

The event was organized by the Law Enforcement Torch Run, the largest grassroots fundraising effort for Special Olympics. The Torch Run program had a record-breaking year in 2012, fundraising over $1 million for Special Olympics.
