A 48-year-old Rockland woman called the Negaunee Regional Dispatch saying she was hiding in another room of her house after her husband was acting irrational, threatened her with a firearm, and harmed the dog.
Officers safely removed the woman from the house while the male suspect was still inside, armed with his firearm.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post and a Conservation Officer from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources arrived, and after brief negotiations, the male suspect placed the firearm on the ground.
The suspect resisted arrest and was tasered. He was then taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital and later transferred to Marquette General Hospital for evaluation.
The Ontonagon County Prosecuting Attorney will review the criminal charges.
