One driver was taken into custody after a two car crash in Ishpeming Monday.
Officials say that a Ford, driven by a woman from Ishpeming, going westbound on US-41 was struck by a car, driven by an Ishpeming male, attempting to make a northbound turn onto Second Street. The turning car struck the driver's side of the Ford, sending the vehicle into a telephone pole. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and declined medical treatment.
The driver of the car turning was determined to be at fault. It was discovered that he was driving on a suspended license, and he was taken into custody. Police say he will be charged with driving on a suspended license and failure to yield.
"It's been a bad area, earlier today I had an accident here," says Corey Gaboury of the Ishpeming Police Department. "The first one was a little bit farther west. It's all about people not paying attention and the speed that's coming through."
