Wednesday afternoon, the K.I.N.D. Drug Enforcement Team discovered a large marijuana grow operation in the basement of a residence in the Kingsford Heights area. The K.I.N.D. team working with the Dickinson County Prosecutor's Office were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence after recently receiving a tip alerting them of the grow operation. During the search they located and seized over 200 marijuana plants along with two pounds of processed marijuana and a large amount of money.
The name of the homeowner is currently being withheld pending further investigation. The KIND team was assisted at the scene by Kingsford Public Safety Department, the Iron Mountain Police Department and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.
