The man accused of many incidents of vandalism in the City of Marquette will be headed to circuit court.
Alexander Watanen, 25, was in court on Friday for a preliminary trial regarding charges of malicious destruction of property and resisting arrest. Watanen waived his right to a preliminary trial and was bound over to circuit court.
Watanen was arrested on July 22 after a witness reported him tagging a dumpster with the name GERKO. The same name has been observed on many dumpsters and signs throughout the City of Marquette, according to police.
Watanen is out of jail after posting his $12,500 bond. He is expected to be back in court on August 9 at 10:30 a.m.
