People all over the U P Celebrated Earth Day by dropping off old unwanted medications.
The Superior Watershed Partnership hosted a medication collection today at 18 different locations across the U P. The First Presbyterian Church in Escanaba was one of the drop off sites. They welcomed anyone to drop off over the counter medications, prescriptions and even narcotics. They want to ensure these medications were disposed of properly.
"We are trying to keep these medications out of our waterways and trying to keep our environment safe," Church Organizer Carol McCall said.
Law enforcement officials and pharmacists were at every site to answer questions and oversee the drop off. The collection ran from ten AM to two PM.
