Students at Stambaugh Elementary in Iron River had one colorful day of school today.
They were participating in their third annual 5k run-walk, but this year was a color run. Students made their way from over Bridge Park down to the Iron County Museum in nearby Caspian.
Along the way runners passed by stations where they were hit with colored powder.
"West Iron County Schools has made a commitment to raising a healthier generation," said wellness coordinator Denise Maloney. "This is a celebration of a year filled with learning about taking care of our bodies, eating right, exercising and making good healthy lifestyle habits."
The run-walk was open to the public and donations raised for the event are being donated to the Iron County cancer unit.
