Your land line telephone may soon be going away. Michigan phone companies could more easily discontinue the service under a senate bill which passed the house on Tuesday. The measure would streamline regulations for ending land line service after 2016.
Supporters say it'll help michigan discard outdated technology. Opponents, like AARP Michigan, say land lines are cheaper and more dependable than wireless or internet phones.
