The Escanaba man who stabbed his son was sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court Monday.
Thomas Hanley, 73, received eight months in jail with credit for the 121 days already served.
In June, Hanley plead no contest to police officer assault, resist and obstruction. A charge of assault with a dangerous weapon was dropped.
The event took place in March. According to Michigan State Police and court officials, after an altercation with his son, Hanley came down the stairs of his home carrying a knife. At that point Hanley was tasered four times by police.
