Exploring the night skies in Marquette

The Shiras Planetarium will be holding four public shows in the month of March. The planetarium is attached to Marquette Senior High School.

New planetarium director Rachel Pomeroy said the presentations include a sky walk (information about current skies) and a digital presentation about IBEX, a NASA mission to define the edge of the solar system. Here is a preview of the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5sJcfml4hg .

The show "IBEX: Search for the Edge of the Solar System" runs March 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children, and free for senior citizens.

The planetarium works in conjunction with the Marquette Astronomical Society. Their web site is: http://nightsky.jpl.nasa.gov/club-view.cfm?Club_ID=672
