Federal prison for woman possessing firearms

A 46-year-old Brimley woman was sentenced to federal prison for being a felon in possession of firearms.

According to the Department of Justice, Patricia Marie Sawasky was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison. In addition to her prison term, U.S. District Judge R. Allan Edgar ordered her to serve two years of supervised release after her prison term.

Sawasky pled guilty to the charge in February. She was originally arrested when police searched a home she frequented. There were guns located in the residence as well, and Sawasky admitted to having ready access to them.

Sawasky also assaulted a tribal officer during the search of the residence.
