A family of three is without a home after a fire destroyed their Carp Lake Township log cabin Wednesday.
No one was home when the fire started just after 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Investigators believe the blaze was caused by something electrical.
The American Red Cross has provided assistance to Carol Paulsen who lived in the house with her daughter and granddaughter.
Members of the community say they'd like to organize a fundraiser for the family, but so far nothing has been planned.
An Ontonagon County home is gone after a fire broke out Wednesday morning.
The Ontonagon County Sheriff's Department reports that the fire was reported at 11:17 a.m. at the log cabin-style home located at 27709 W M64.
A friend of the homeowner made the call to the Carp Lake Fire Department. They called for mutual assistance due to the size of the fire. Ontonagon, Rockland and Greenland Fire Departments responded.
The homeowner, Carol Paulson, was not home at the time. No one was hurt fighting the fire.
The building is a total loss.
It seems the blaze started in the front of the building and appears to be electrical in nature.
