A Hurley, Wisconsin business is a total loss after a seven-hour battle with flames and ice.
At 4:51 p.m. CST Thursday afternoon, firefighters were called out to Wishbones Bar and Restaurant, 403 Silver Street, in Hurley. When crews arrived at the scene, they found the second story of the building fully engulfed in flames.
In addition to the fire, crews battled frigid temperatures. The thermometer readings were under 10 degrees, with wind chills well below zero the entire time.
Firefighters remained at the scene for seven hours before the fire was put down.
Wishbones Bar and Restaurant is a total loss, however, an adjoining business, The Krash Inn, received only minor smoke damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the Wisconsin State Fire Marshall will be called in to assist in the investigation.
Responding to the massive blaze were crews from the Hurley Fire Department, Hurley Police Department, Hurley Public Works, Beacon Ambulance, Ironwood Public Safety, and the Red Cross.
The Hurley Fire Department in Wisconsin is currently battling a blaze in downtown Hurley.
The Iron County Sheriffâ??s Office in Hurley isnâ??t releasing any information yet, but they have confirmed the fire began before 5 p.m.
An eyewitness told us the fire is at Wishbones Bar on Silver Street.
Police will release more information once emergency responders clear the scene.
