For the first time ever, residents of Ishpeming and Negaunee participated in a town wide rummage sale. Saturday, hundreds of people came out looking to find deals on clothes, furniture, and other household items.
The event was put together by the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce after seeing the success of other community rummage sales. The goal was to bring both communities and the surrounding townships together.
While out shopping, many people decided to browse while others were looking for specific items.
"I don't like to pay full price for baby clothes or baby items, so we're always out looking for baby items. If you hit the right sales, it's pretty easy," said Audrey Carlson, shopper.
Over 60 houses registered in this year's event, and the communities plan on holding another town wide rummage sale next year.
