In an emergency, the last thing most people are concerned about is rescuing a child's stuffed animal. Luckily, the law enforcement and EMS personel in Dickinson County have that angle covered. The first-ever Teddy Bear Patrol was held in Iron Mountain Saturday. The goal was to collect stuffed animals to give to children in an emergency.
â??The best way to comfort a child is with a stuffed animal, and being able to provide that comfort to a child, in a crisis, is what this whole thing is about," said Matthew Barczak.
In the end, they managed to collect hundreds of stuffed animals. It is expected for this to become a yearly tradition.
