Good news coming from the Florence County Fair. The fair was last month, but coordinators say they've broken some records this year. Though the exact number of fairgoers couldnâ??t be calculated, those helping out say it was the most they'd ever seen.
This year, a new pavilion was constructed for food and beer sales, something board members say was very successful. â??Saturday, the food and beer sale was just through the roof,â?? said fair manager, Jessica Klumpp. â??We ran out of food, just about, on Saturday, so we were making plans on Sunday and picking up more, so that was good.â??
Other activities such as the cricket-spitting contest and the recycled art contest also received first-time records in the history of the Florence County Fair.
