The Ford Airport in Dickinson County is now qualified to receive one million dollars in improvement funding. In order to receive the full million, they needed to pass the 10,000 passengers mark. They did this both through Delta passengers and new charter flight and air ambulance traffic. There were 9,160 Delta Passengers and 1,209 supplemental passengers. The entitlement funding will be used for general facility improvements.
â??The funding is going to go for building improvements, new equipment, snow removal equipment, and I think we also a have lighting project in there as well,â?? said airport manager, Tim Howen. â??We work together with our engineering firm to come up with needs and wants for our airport.â??
The Ford Airport is required to come up with a five-year plan to present to the state describing how they will use the funding.
