Former principal jailed after attempting to contact victim

The former principal of Munising Baptist School is in the Alger County Jail after his bond was revoked. Benjamin Franklin II violated his bond after making numerous attempts to electronically communicate with his victim.

The 35-year-old man was arrested back in March and faces three counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct for his alleged involvement with one female student between the ages of 16 and 18. He was never jailed after his arrest and returned home to St. Joseph, Ill. after posting ten percent of his $5,000 bond.

Franklin will be back in Alger County Circuit Court for a bond revocation hearing on June 17 at 9:30 a.m. Each count of CSC is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
