Former school administrator waives CSC preliminary hearing

Thu, 09 May 2013 12:53:29 GMT — An Alger County school administrator is facing additional sexual conduct charges for his alleged involvement with a female teenage student. Benjamin David Franklin II appeared in Alger County District Court on Thursday morning for his preliminary hearing. The 35-year-old man was the principal of Munising Baptist School. He was arrested in March and charged with one count of third degree CSC. The criminal complaint has been amended to include two additional charges of third degree CSC. Each is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Franklin waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over to circuit court. Franklin is facing charges after he allegedly was sexually involved with a female student between the ages of 16 and 18. Franklin resigned from his position after the allegations came to light. His current address is in St. Joseph, Ill. He remains free on a $5,000 bond. He will be arraigned in Alger County Circuit Court on May 20, 2013.
