The Ishpeming Ski Club is giving kids a chance to ski jump off of Suicide Hill for free.
Even though there isn't a whole lot of snow on the ground, Tuesday was still opening day at the hill. Kids can come out every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The 120-year-old club offers free ski lessons and equipment.
Kids have the option of skiing down the 13 or 25 meter hill depending on their skill level.
If your child is an inexperienced skier, instructors will take the time to teach them the basics.
"We're just here for the kids, and we want to make them have a good time and experience, you know, experience a different sport that is kind of rare and a lot of fun," said Zak Hammill, ski instructor.
"You can't be scared when you're trying to do something. If you really want to do it, you just can't be scared," said Spencer Giroux, skier.
If your kids are interested in taking some free lessons, practice starts at 6:30 p.m.
