Great Lakes Recovery Centers are asking people to step up for addiction and behavioral health with their annual Great Lakes Race this Saturday.
The race includes a 10K run and a 5K walk starting and ending at the corner of Lakeshore Boulevard and Spring Street in Marquette. The GLRC has t-shirts, awards and door prizes lined up for the event, all in an effort to help them raise funds and promote awareness of the work they do in the Upper Peninsula.
"In order to expand and in order to enhance our message across the U.P., it's these types of fundraising events that make our efforts possible and we just invite people to come out, support the substance abuse and mental health services that we provide in 11 communities across the U.P.," said GLRC Foundation Coordinator Andy Chosa.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., with race time set for 9 a.m. at the Lakeshore parking lot. The entry fee is $5 for kids, $10 for teens and $20 for adults. For more information on the GLRC, check out the website here.
