More good news at the gas pump. Triple A of Michigan reports gas prices continue to slide.
The Sunday report shows the statewide average at $3.49 per gallon. This is down fourteen cents from last week, and is seventeen cents less that a year ago.
In the regional averages, the lowest prices are being found in Lansing/East Lansing at around $3.39. The Marquette Regional, which is an average of all the Upper Peninsula gas stations, is highest at $3.68 a gallon. Prices at individual gas stations will vary.
Good refinery production is given some credit for the lower prices. AAA reports that domestic refinery utilization is at the highest level of the year. Michigan is sixth in the top ten states with the largest yearly decreases.
