Gas prices across the U.P. are on the rise.
In the eastern U.P., from Munising to Manistique gas prices are approaching and even surpassing $4 a gallon as the 4th of July draws closer.
The price of oil has gone up lately, pushing prices at the pump higher.
One gas station owner told TV-6 that holidays like the 4th also tend to drive up the price of gas.
And even with increased numbers of people traveling, she says higher prices are bad for business.
"It can slow everybody down. I mean, its going to slow all of our businesses down because people ain't gonna be able to afford to go do anything. Gas prices keep going, what are you gonna do? Everything's going up in the economy except for the money that we make." said Seney Party Store owner Annette Gilbert.
The state average for gas is now sitting at $3.96 per gallon.
