The Hiawatha National Forest is sponsoring kids fishing day on Saturday at the Camp 7 Lake Campground.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 1:00 p.m. in the picnic area. As part of Michigan's Free Fishing Weekend, all fishing licenses are waived.
This free, fun-filled day is designed for children ages 16 and under.
"If it's really small, don't keep it. If it's really big, keep it," said Rapid River third grader, Carter Johnson.
"Hoping to like, spend time with my family and catch some fish," said Upper Elementary fifth grader Macy Degnan.
The day's events will include two fishing ponds, casting contest, free raffle prizes and free food. Camp 7 is located on Delta County Road 442, approximately 22 miles from Manistique, or 31 miles from Rapid River.
