Registration is now open for the National Night Out 2013.
National Night Out is a community-based event where residents have the opportunity to meet their neighbors and learn more about your community.
Last year over 3,000 people attended the event in Marquette County with 19 different festivals offered.
Law enforcement officers will also be on hand so you have the opportunity to meet them on a personal level.
"It's a chance to get to know your neighbors. Our lives are getting very busy and sometimes you just need to take the time to find out who our neighbor is so that in the long run, we can look out for those people and call the police if there's a problem," said Trooper Stacey Rasanen, Michigan State Police Negaunee Post.
This year's event will take place August 3 though August 11.
If you are interested in registering for the event, you can print out the form.
