The eighth annual Girls' Night Out in Iron Mountain is happening Thursday evening, and area businesses are getting ready for the big night of mingling and shopping. Downtown retailers are hosting the event which helps to kickstart the holiday shopping season.
Salon services, food and wine, prizes and pampering are all expected for the evening, and some businesses, such as Twisted Sisters Boutique, are helping local community organizations through donations.
â??We started six years ago doing what we call our PJ Party,â?? said Twisted Sisters Boutique owner, Melissa VanPembrook. â??What we do is we take donations of new pajamas and we donate them to our local Caring House; the ladies at the Caring House are so grateful for every pair we give them.â??
The Twisted Sisters Boutique is also having a grand prize drawing that includes a limousine ride, a gift certificate to Spiros and Perennial Gardens, two tickets to shows at Island Resort and Casino, and a gift basket from Salon 323. Other retailers are offering massage sessions, live music, hors dâ?? oeuvres, and tattoos. The event takes Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
