Does the end of summer have you singing the blues? Embrace it! And join many others in the second annual Blues Fest in Alpha this Saturday.
Last year the Blues Fest was such a hit, coordinators couldn't help but continue it and add much more to the line-up of events. Not only will there be fantastic blues music, but also food, games, drawings, and even a public wedding ceremony for those choosing to tie the knot.
â??We added a 'Blues Be Gone' wedding ceremony, a public wedding ceremony,â?? said Iron County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Bob Black. â??One of the band members proposed to his fiancà last year, so we've brought a blues band in this year, and we're going to have at least one wedding and three or four couples renewing their vows,â?? Black said.
The festival begins in Alpha at noon on Saturday, but at 11:00 a.m., anyone can participate in the Veteranâ??s Memorial Tribute ride, in which people will ride around Iron County to tour Veteransâ?? Memorials. Upon arriving in Alpha, cards will be drawn for those who participated to win a free HDTV.
