Saturday was graduation day for Northern Michigan University (NMU) students. Over 800 graduates filled the Superior Dome in Marquette.
Michelle Taylor came to the U.P. two years ago with her fianc, Wesley Williams, who was also the former morning meteorologist of TV6.
Taylor said even though Wesley could not attend her graduation, she knows he is proud.
"It means a lot to me because I worked very hard for this, and it's really exciting to finally be here and get this over with. Wesley's in Louisiana watching on the live stream right now, so I'm very pleased about that," said Taylor.
Congratulations Michelle and all of the NMU grads.
As the graduates walked to their seats, family and friends used the opportunity to take pictures.
During the ceremony, a moment of silence was held for former NMU president Bill Vandament who passed away in April.
