The American Association of University Women (AAUW) of Marquette is raising money to help send more women to college.
The money raised will go into a scholarship fund. Four scholarships will be available for women interested in applying.
The AAUW said the goal is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.
"Some of our efforts for example are to promote interests in STEM. That is science, technology, engineering and math and to engage young girls in thinking in those areas," Karlyn Rapport, policy representative for the Marquette AAUW.
AAUW said it has a program with the Seaborg Center at Northern Michigan University to promote education among young women.
