The Gwinn Lions Club hosted its annual Chicken Barbecue Sunday in Peter Nordeen Park.
Hungry participants lined up at the park to trade in their purchased tickets for some good food.
Lions Club staff told TV-6 this event is particularly special because the only thing the club wants from the commmunity here is to share in a good time.
"It's our opportunity to participate with the public. A lot of the times, for fundraising events we're out there with out hands out, but this one we're actually down here and interacting with the community." said Peggy Lindeman with the Gwinn Lions Club.
Lindeman said the barbecue sells an average of 300 to 500 chickens depending on turnout. The barbecue has been serving the community for 30 years, rain or shine.
