A 37-year-old Hancock resident has been arrested on criminal sexual conduct charges, according to police.
The Houghton County Prosecutor's Office issued a warrant for Michael J. Kangas on three counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct, and he was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Two of the charges allege that Kangas had sexual contact with a child under the age of thirteen, with the third charge stating that he allegedly had sexual contact with a child between 13 and 16.
Each count of criminal sexual conduct could carry up to 15 years in prison. According to the Houghton County Sheriff's Department, Kangas was arraigned in court and is out on bond.
