Portage Health Hospital in Hancock welcomed their first baby of 2012 at 6 a.m. Sunday; a touch of grace for the parents who weren't expecting the little guy for another three weeks.
Nolan Ryan Holombo of Chassell weighed in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce and he's 20.5 inches long. Amber said she drove herself to the hospital around one in the morning, and Nolan was born five hours later. He arrived with no complications.
Nolan joins the family as one of three boys and one of six children total for the proud parents.
"All my kids want the baby home so they will be excited to see their little brother, and my husband's excited it's a boy; he's three weeks early so he was a surprise," said mommy Amber Holombo.
Nolan is the first baby to be born in 2012 in the area. Other hospitals announced the birth of a few other babies Sunday afternoon.
